Lime green is that subtle color that is in part green and in part yellow.
It takes its name from the lime, that citric fruit that tastes similar to lemon.
Lime green bedding is a tricky bedding style. It is very likely that if you stare at it just
for a few seconds, you’ll get the feeling that it’s too “loud” for your room.
Let me give you a piece of advice: give it a few minutes. The effect is unbelievable. The color stands out from the background. And that is a great thing. Of course, if you have too many red in your room (just to make an example), you’ll have to be extremely careful, and honestly, lime green might not be the best choice.
But it works wonders with yellow, dark green, black and white.
It makes you focus on the bed. And the bed is the star of any bedroom.
The trick is this, if you choose lime green bedding, you don’t have to put “stronger” or
“louder” colors on areas bigger than the bedding itself.
You follow that rule, and you can do pretty much anything you want.
To contradict myself a little, you can place two small red pillows over the bedding. With the key word being: “small”. Just to be clear, if the red item is one of the walls, then forget
about lime green.
Anyway, you can take a different approach and instead of contrasting the tone, you can opt for matching colors. Dark browns combined with lime green bring a great feeling of nature without being too obvious.
Black works extremely well, specially breaking lime green patterns. It provides some resting area for the eyes.
White is also an excellent choice, but for my taste it needs some framing by a stronger color. The frame could be provided by lime green itself, but I wouldn’t advice on surrounding your lime green bedding with white. You need a strong color outside of the white patches.
Take a look at some of the arrangements in the pictures and get used to the idea. It is a innovative and really creative solution. Go green on your bedding, lime green.
